“No, professionals in the furnished tourist rental sector should not be made the scapegoats for poor housing in France!” (latribune.fr)

The SPLM (Syndicat des Professionnels de la Location Meublée, or Union of Furnished Rental Professionals) in France is a signatory to the Furnished Rental Professionals’ Forum. We invite you to read it below. It is indeed time to stop pointing fingers at an industry that drives tourism, creates non-relocatable jobs and value, and to work on living together.

STR-Belgium fully supports the SPLM in its approach and fully agrees with the conclusion of its open letter, which is perfectly applicable in Belgium and in the Brussels-Capital Region in particular: “We ask you today: let’s stop making (French) operators in the furnished tourist rental sector the easy scapegoats for poor housing and let’s work together to find sustainable solutions to this crisis, while protecting the activity of many local businesses and the purchasing power (of the French).”
